Congratulations! You’ve made the decision to move to/within Boston and you have a list of must-have amenities. Is a place to do laundry on your list?
If you’re moving within Boston, you already know that many apartments do not come equipped with a washer and dryer. If you’re relocating to Boston, this piece of information may startle you. Don’t worry! As with many things in Boston, there’s an app for that (a couple actually). If you keep an open mind, you’ll have many more options available to you during your apartment search.
You can have any cuisine you desire delivered to your apartment. Why not have your laundry picked up and delivered to you cleaned and folded? It will save you time and, if you’re like me, it may save you hundreds in ruined clothing. The other surprise? It doesn’t cost much more than many coin operated washers and dryers. There are three DIY options available to renters in Boston: neighborhood laundromat, shared washer/dryer in the building (referred to as: common laundry), and washer/dryer in-unit. The neighborhood laundromat may require a bit of schlepping on your part, but there’s an upside to this option. You can do a whole month’s worth of laundry in a couple hours.
